Before you choose the card for you, it can pay to examine the Standard Chartered credit card miles conversion rates so you’ll know you’re getting the best rewards available. You’ll also need to check out:

  • Minimum income requirements - which can vary depending on whether you’re a Singapore citizen, PR or a foreigner
  • Annual fees - ranging from 194 SGD to 1,500 SGD depending on the card tier, but banks often provide fee waivers for the first year or when you meet certain spending thresholds

Understanding Standard Chartered Credit Card Miles Conversion and Redemption

You can convert your SC points to miles or exchange them for vouchers and cash with varying rates depending on the card you hold. All Standard Chartered 360 rewards redemption is managed digitally for convenience - here’s a summary of how it works.

How to redeem Standard Chartered Points

Standard Chartered credit card miles redemption is managed through the 360 Rewards Redemption platform⁶. You’ll need to log into the platform using your card and banking credentials, to view the reward opportunities which you can choose from.

Rewards are split by category and cover vouchers, cash redemption, airline miles and perks and more. There are fees for some services, such as converting your SC rewards to airline rewards, or pooling your rewards with another card holder. Redemption of points is usually processed within 5 working days⁷.

How to convert Standard Chartered Points to Miles

You can convert your SC points to KrisFlyer Miles (Singapore Airlines) or to Asia Miles (Cathay Pacific). There’s a fee for conversion, which sits at 27.25 SGD per transfer. It’s more cost-effective to convert all your accumulated points at once rather than making multiple smaller conversions. The conversion rate from SC points to airline miles depends on the card you have and the selected airline partner - you’re shown the conversion rates in the redemption portal when you come to manage your conversion.

To illustrate the Visa Infinite card’s potential, consider someone spending 3,000 SGD monthly, across local and overseas purchases.

CategoryMiles Earned¹
Welcome Bonus50,000
Local Spending (10 months)42,000
Overseas Spending (2 months)18,000
Total110,000

This spending pattern can generate enough miles within a year to redeem a Business Class flight to popular destinations like Tokyo, Perth, or Hong Kong.

Travelling soon? Bring the Wise card along to maximise your foreign currency transactions

Miles credit cards are a good way to earn rewards for your everyday spending, but travel credit cards come with drawbacks. Foreign transaction fees, hidden exchange rate markups, high annual fees and unfavourable points-to-miles conversion rates can quickly eat into your rewards.

For overseas spending, there’s a better alternative to travel credit cards. Use the Wise card to spend smarter overseas. Hold and exchange 8+ currencies in your Wise account, with no foreign transaction fees. All currency conversion uses the mid-market rate, with low fees from 0.43%. You can also get up to 2 free ATM withdrawals to a combined value of 350 SGD every month to make it easier and cheaper to get cash while you’re away from home. Just top up in SGD and you’re ready to spend globally.
