Why transfer money from PayPal to Payoneer?

There are a few reasons that a business may need to send money from PayPal to Payoneer. For example:

  • If certain clients pay your company via PayPal, but you use Payoneer to pay your own suppliers.
  • Your company is an online retailer, and PayPal is a popular payment method on your website (or if you sell on online marketplaces such eBay). You’ll need a way to transfer your PayPal balance to your Payoneer account in order to pay your own bills.
  • You’re a freelancer who gets paid through a variety of methods and platforms depending on the client’s preferences, but you use Payoneer as your main business account.

How to send money from PayPal to Payoneer?

Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to directly transfer money from PayPal to Payoneer. Instead, you’ll need to withdraw PayPal funds to your bank account, and then make a payment from your bank account to Payoneer.

Here are the steps you need to follow to make a bank transfer to Payoneer:¹

  1. Sign into your Payoneer account online
  2. On the home page, select ‘Add funds’ to the balance you want to top up (if this option isn’t available, it may mean you’re not eligible to use the ‘Add funds’ feature)
  3. Select ‘I want to add funds’ and then ‘Get started’
  4. Provide identity and/or business details if requested - this may be needed for verification purposes
  5. Wait for approval to add funds - this may take up to 3 working days.
  6. Once approved, you can log into your online banking and provide your Payoneer receiving account details to transfer money - just like making any other kind of bank payment. You can find these details in your Payoneer account, on the ‘Receiving accounts’ page.

While you can’t make a payment between your own PayPal and Payoneer accounts, you can get paid by clients through this method.

Payoneer has recently added PayPal as an option for its ‘Request Payment’ feature, for US and UK account holders. This lets your clients and customers use PayPal to pay you, and the money will go into your Payoneer account.²

However, Payoneer has made it clear that this option is not for ‘self-loading’ or topping up your Payoneer card.³

PayPal to Payoneer transfer fee

It’s free to withdraw funds from your PayPal business account to your UK bank account, as long as no currency conversion is required.⁴

And when it comes to the next step - sending a payment from your UK bank account to your Payoneer account - the same receiving account fees apply as if you’d received a payment from a client or customer.

The good news is that it’s fee-free if you’re paying money into a receiving account in the same currency as your bank.⁵ For example, if sending funds from your UK bank account to your GBP Payoneer receiving account.

But if the currencies don’t match, a currency conversion fee of 0.5% will apply.⁵
