    Altiris Integrates Enforceable Security with IT Service Management

    Altiris, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATRS), a pioneer of service-oriented management solutions, today announced the integration of enforceable security with IT service management with the release of Altiris® SecurityExpressions™ 4.0 software. In addition, SecurityExpressions will now help secure Windows Vista1, 64-bit and new UNIX and Linux platforms.

    As part of this release, SecurityExpressions will be integrated with Altiris® Helpdesk Solution™ software, Altiris Task Server™ software and other CRM products to help customers integrate security into day-to-day workflow and process operations. Critical to the vision of Altiris service-oriented management, this new release will combine automated IT operations with enforceable security.

    According to Forrester research, “Given the increasing number of touchpoints and areas with similar challenges, combining security and systems management under one management roof offers IT an opportunity to reduce costs and increase responsiveness.”2

    SecurityExpressions helps keep security postures consistent with security policies and regulatory mandates and enforces compliance through audits, remediation and reporting. Altiris is unique in providing continual assessment, remediation and ongoing management of security configurations. In the end, SecurityExpressions helps to reduce labor costs, improve customer service and endpoint security, and deliver documented due diligence.

    Significant new features of SecurityExpressions 4.0 include:

    • Integration with Altiris Task Server for enhanced workflow management
      • Integrated with Altiris Helpdesk Solution
      • Extensible to other CRM systems
    • Vista and 64-bit auditing support
    • New audit support for Solaris 10, AIX 5.3, and SuSe
    • Web-service auditing
